Veterinarians
Jerry L Case, DVM- Dr. Case is a third generation Veterinarian in Savannah. He graduated from the University of Georgia in 1975 and then returned to his hometown to practice. He served as President of the Georgia Veterinary Association in 1996 and is very active in the community as well. Dr. and Mrs. Case have been married since 1968 and have two daughters and sons-in-laws, Laura and Matt Wiley and Carla and David McCorvey. Grandchildren include three grandsons, Cameron and Grant Wiley, Carson McCorvey, and one granddaughter, Amelia McCorvey.
Although not actively seeing clients at this time, Dr. Case is behind the scenes in the administrative and management portion of the hospital as well as a mentor to our veterinarians.

Dr. Carla Case-McCorvey
Carla Case-McCorvey, DVM - Dr. Case McCorvey is the 4th generation in the Case family to practice veterinary medicine in the 102 year old Savannah practice. She graduated from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 1999. Her husband David is a C.P.A here in Savannah. They are the proud parents of two children, a girl and a boy as well as two four-legged children, a dog, Maddie and Coffee, a Siamese cat.
Marnie Dasher, DVM- Dr. Dasher is a local girl, growing up in Effingham county. She attended UGA for her doctorate degree and extended her time in Athens to do a 9 month Radiology Residency. During her 6 years in private practice and fourteen months training in ultrasound, radiology, and nuclear scanning, Dr. Dasher has honed her interest in this specialty area. She now rotates her time between taking referrals for ultrasounds on Tuesday at Case, her boutique, Sweet Peas, in Rincon, and her son, Coen and daughter, Hailyn. Her husband, yellow Lab, Rebel, and her extended local family divide the rest of her attention!
Miranda C. Knight, DVM- Dr. Knight joined our staff in 2008. She attended the University of Georgia to obtain her bachelor’s degree in Animal Science and then continued her education at Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine where she graduated magna cum laude in 2003.
Dr. Knight resides in Savannah with her husband, Travis, two girls, Hannah and Caroline, and the rest of the Knight family: Georgia & Bailey (the dogs), Samantha & Murray (the cats), and Roscoe (Hannah’s horse).
Erin Allgood, DVM- Dr. Erin Allgood started here at Case in July 2010 upon receiving her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from North Carolina State University. Dr. Allgood grew up working with her father in his practice and has been involved in veterinary medicine since. Dr. Allgood enjoys her cat, Lennie, as well as cooking, baking, and snowboarding (maybe we will convert her to wakeboarding).
She stated during her interview, “Animals add so much joy to people’s lives and I feel blessed to be part of that bond.”
Dr. Michael Ammermon, DVM- Dr. Michael Ammermon has recently joined the veterinary professional staff at Case Veterinary Hospital. The addition of a veterinarian will allow Case Veterinary Hospital to continue to have increased availability to our clients as well as bringing in new services for our patients.
Dr. Ammermon is a University of Georgia graduate who has worked in the emergency environment as well as in general practice. In recent years, he has become especially interested in orthopedic surgery and will be bringing his experience with orthopedics to Case which will allow the addition of more extensive procedures. This will complement the laparoscopy and ultrasound technology that is currently available at Case Veterinary Hospital.
Dr. Ammermon is married to a veterinarian and they have one daughter.
Dr. Geoff Hall- Dr. Geoff Hall is a graduate from the University of Georgia as well. Dr. Hall is a new graduate but is very familiar with the veterinary hospital setting after working several years as a veterinary technician. Dr. Hall, his wife, and their infant daughter moved to Savannah upon accepting the position at Case.
Management
Lisa Yackel, CVPM, PHR- Lisa Yackel has been with the Case Veterinary Hospital since 1991 but in the veterinary field since 1977. In 1994 she completed her Certified Veterinary Practice Manager’s accreditation and is one of two in the state of Georgia. In 2003 she became a Professional in Human Resources. She and her husband, Scott, have been married since 1979 and decided to make Savannah their home when he retired from the Coast Guard. They have an adult son, Kevin, a daughter-in-law, Erin, a grandson, Max. They enjoy water skiing, home projects, traveling, spending time with family, and touring our beautiful area on their Harley and in their boat. She and Scott share their home with Jake, a Cairn terrier mix rescued from Animal Control.
Beth Massey, Office Manager- Beth will be taking over as our new office manager in January of 2012. Although new to Case, she is certainly not new to the veterinary industry. With over 14 years of experience in the veterinary field, she has had a diversity of training both in emergency medicine and corporate veterinary practices. Beth has a special interest in feline medicine as well as providing great customer service.
She and her husband, Dustin, enjoy traveling and their pets. Their menagerie includes, Lola, a Great Dane, Omar, Jacob, Sushi, and Fuji, kitty cats. True to her upbringing in Kentucky, she has been riding, training, and showing horses for 20 years.
Technicians
Kenny Weaver, LVT- Kenny is our Head Technician, he has been with Case since June of 1978. His previous experience IS Case! He is invaluable to our practice, becoming a Licensed Technician in 2004! In 2010, Kenny was named Georgia’s Technician of the Year. He has been married for 28 years and has 2 beautiful daughters, a son-in-law, and a granddaughter. His hobbies include fishing, camping, and hunting.
Mary Waters- Mary is our ultrasound technician as well as our Client/Patient Liaison. She has been with Case since April of 2001. Before that, she retired from a standard office environment. In her own words, “I’m now doing what I’ve always loved and wanted to do – care for and love animals”. In past years, she bred and raised beagles. At one time, she had 40 of them!! (all family members). She now gets her “animal fix” at work. She has scaled back her animals to 1 Beagle, 1 Bassett Hound, 1 Dachshund , and 1 cat.
Lauren Davis- Lauren is one of our technicians and has been with the Case Family since August 2003. She originally started in our kennel but with her 4 years of previous experience as a veterinary technician, her strong work ethic, and her wonderful, compassionate care of the animals, she quickly advanced in her role. She has a cat named “Tony” and a dog named “Chewy”.
Her hobbies include dancing and going out with friends.
Stephanie Ludke- Stephanie comes to us from a Humane Society environment where she has worked for the last nine years. She has made her calling ensuring that she is making a difference in pets’ lives.
Other interest other than Stephanie’s large menagerie at home include camping, hiking, cooking and baking.
Cassi Anderson, BS- Cassi comes to us via a military husband and is originally from Illinois. She has a Bachelors in Animal Science and is actively working on getting her veterinary technician certification. She enjoys showing and riding horses and has two Quarter horses, Bonnie & Mya. Two dogs, Bella, a Scottish Terrier and Lily, an English Bulldog as well as a turtle, Lucky round out her animal family.
Chelsea Plankenhorn, LVT-Chelsea interned with us while pursuing her degree as a licensed technician at Ogeechee College. After some time working at a mix practice in Statesboro, we were thrilled that she decided to join our team in June of 2011. Chelsea is from this area and lives in Pembroke with her military husband. 
Heather Sneed-Heather is also here following a military spouse to the area. She has worked for many years in the veterinary field and works part time with us and part time with Dr. Brogdon, the veterinary opthamologist here in Savannah.
Reception
Melissa Kilpatrick- Melissa is a new resident to Savanah and is originally from the Ringgold, GA/Chattanooga, TN area. She has been married to a high school English teacher for 3 years and they have two canine children, Ryder, a 3 year old Jack Russell/Dachsund mix and Lilly, a 3.5 year old Beagle. Melissa loves cooking, collecting cookbooks, reading, and traveling. She has previous experience as a receptionist in the human medical field.
Adaire Deriso- Adaire recently returned to Savannah and to Case Veterinary Hospital after a four year stint in New York City working at a 8 doctor, AAHA veterinary hospital. We are thrilled to have her back with us and know she is glad to be back home and near the beach again. Adaire and her husband have a dog, Moo, two cats, Psycho and Kitty Girl as well as two guinea pigs.
Kristen Vining-Kristen has a B.S. in biology and has several years of experience working with animals, both domestic and on the wild side at Oatland Island. She enjoys grooming , cooking, and tennis. Her animal family includes a bird dog mix, Laney, a gray tabby cat, Chloe, and A.J., the bird.
Michelle Vetter-Michelle has spent the last three years heavily involved with doggie day care facilities and pet sitting. She is attending college and has plans to eventually become a veterinarian. She enjoys being outdoors and staying active and is currently trying out for the Roller Derby team here in town. Michelle and her husband, a career Army man, have four pets-two dogs and two cats.
Rebekah Burke- Rebekah joins our reception team after working three years in an emergency veterinary hospital in Augusta, GA. She is a newlywed and shares her home with Scarlette, Savannah, Lizzie, Lili, Pinky, Pokey, and Bold Archer. ( Two dogs, two three cats, and one horse respectfully. ) Rebekah is an avid equestrian and an amateur photographer. Rebekah works on Saturdays only.
Kennels
Ashley Davison – Ashley was promoted to our Kennel Supervisor in December of 2009 after working for us since July of 2008. Her caring manner with the pets as well as her attention to detail makes her an excellent fit for this position. She is also one of our technicians which gives her great insight on any medical attention our boarders might require.
Brianna Plachy- Welcome back Brianna! Brianna is helping us in our kennel again around her college schedule. The pets truly get into your blood and we are happy to have employees come back who loved what they did but had to leave to go to school, etc.
Michelle Manson- Michelle comes to Savannah all the way from Hawaii where she was stationed with her husband. A native Alaskan, Michelle has traveled extensively. One constant in her travels has been her love of animals. She worked for several years in a Doggie Daycare/Boarding facility and has also been taking on-line Veterinary Assistant Certification courses.
She has three dogs, “Blue”, a Rhodesian Ridgeback/American Bulldog mix , “Dakota”, an Aussie/Border collie mix, and “Tucker, a Catahoula/Spaniel mix. Michelle is looking forward to learning the more medical side of caring for pets.
Katie Varnell- Katie has a BS in Business Management and also has extensive experience in customer service fields. Although new to veterinary medicine, her love of animals and customer service skills have already made her an asset to our team.
Katie enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her family. Her two dogs, Lulu and Boo are also rather demanding of her attention!
Alexandra Harrell-Alex started working at a pet store and it fueled her interest in veterinary medicine. She hopes to continue learning and eventually go to school to become a veterinary technician. She loves drawing and horseback riding and has a pit bull named Kindell.
Grooming
Wyndie Haldenwang – Wyndie is graduate of the PetSylist Learning Institute. She grooms both cats and dogs but has a great love for all animals. Her menagerie includes two Standard Poodles, four birds, 2 snakes, one spider, and two horses. To go along with the pets, Wyndie and her husband have six children and two grandchildren. Wyndie has a very calming, easy going demeanor that serves her well with working with the animals and the children.
