We often have clients ask if there is a way they can donate as a way of giving back and doing something that will benefit other pets. Often this request occurs after the loss of a pet and is intended to serve as a a memorial for their loved one. We have listed below some of the ways that you can donate, both monetary and otherwise.
Angel Fund-
The financial decisions that must be made when a pet is ill or needs surgery can further compound the sorrow felt when a pet is sick. All of us at Case Veterinary Hospital wish we could provide our services for free, but, the reality is that we must collect our fees in order to be able to remain in business and provide the high Standards of Care that we believe every pet deserves.
With the help of a few of our generous clients, we started the Angel fund to allow those who have been financially blessed to bless others who are less fortunate but want to provide care for their pet. These funds are not tax deductible as we are not a non-profit chartered business. You can be assured, however, that the funds will be used at our veterinarians’ discretion to help pets in need.
If you wish to donate to this fund, please speak with our Office Manager or one of our veterinarians. Animals enrich each of our lives in such a profound way and this is a wonder way to “pay it forward”.
University of Georgia-
As the alma mater of many of our veterinarians as well as that of Dr. Jerry and Carla Case, the Case Veterinary Hospital donates regularly to the University of Georgia’s Arch Fund. This Fund supports the Veterinary Medicine Hospital Building Campaign through pet memorials. Information about the Arch Fund can be found at www.vet.uga.edu/giving/funds.
Towels, Newspapers-
Our hospital can always benefit from towels and newspaper to be used for our boarding and hospitalized patients. Donations of these items are greatly appreciated.
Pets Peace of Mind-
We recently partnered with Hospice of Savannah to help those who are under hospice care be able to maintain the relationship they have with their pets through the help of volunteers and veterinary support. Donations can be sent to Hospice of Savannah-PPOM program. http://hospicesavannah.org/Page.aspx?pid=472
Friends of Animals-
Friends of Animals of the Coastal Empire, Inc. is an all volunteer, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that distributes funds from its annual auctions to existing non-profit animal rescue and welfare groups in our area. This is one of the events our hospital looks forward to attending every year and we support their efforts to helping the animals in our community. Funding is dispersed to The Milton Project, Spay/Neuter Alliance Clinic, Islands Feral Cat Project, local breed rescue groups, and City/County/Humane Societies. More information can be found at www.friendsofanimalscoastalga.org
Humane Society-
Our local Humane Society can always use donations in the form of volunteer work, items for their thrift shop, or monetary donations. More information can be found at www.humanesocietysav.org.
