Laparoscopy

Already standard in human medicine, this minimally invasive method of surgery is performed within the abdomen using a tiny camera and instruments which are inserted through two or three small holes instead of opening the abdomen through a long incision. It’s less invasive, therefore less painful, and has a decreased risk of infection.

This method of surgery also allows for less hospital time, faster recovery and fewer complications. From routine spays to complicated surgical treatment of cancer, laparoscopy is becoming the standard of care at Case Veterinary Hospital for not only our own patients but for those that are referred to us by surrounding veterinarians.
