Dr. Jeleah (Nuñez) Rines was born in Boston, Massachusetts and grew up in Orlando, Florida. She always knew she would end up in a career that involved working with animals as a young girl. Dr. Rines attended Thomas University on a softball scholarship, where she received her bachelor’s degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. While attending school in Georgia, she took a few trips to Savannah and knew she would eventually start her life in the beautiful city. Upon graduating, Dr. Rines attended the University of Florida’s College of Veterinary Medicine. Here she earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree as well as professional certificates in both Shelter Medicine and Veterinary Business Management.  She is proud to be a part of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Georgia Veterinary Medical Association, and American Animal Hospital Association organizations.

Dr. Rines’ veterinary interests include soft tissue surgery, small animal medicine, dentistry, and shelter medicine. She is Fear-free certified and is passionate about keeping vet visits a stress and anxiety free experience for both pets and clients.

Outside of work, you can catch Dr. Rines watching sports both live and on tv. She is a huge fan of UF softball, has a love/hate relationship with exercising and working out, and always enjoys being outside with her dog, Chico, and husband, TJ, and spending time with family and friends.
