Supporting Pets Across Savannah

Caring for pets doesn’t stop at the exam room door. At Case Veterinary Hospital, being part of Savannah means showing up for the community in meaningful ways, whether that’s supporting local rescues, participating in events, or helping connect pets with the care and resources they need. These partnerships allow us to stay connected with the people and pets we serve every day, while also giving back to the city that has supported our practice for generations.

Supporting Savannah’s Pets & Families

Dr. Torres helped establish Barkus & Meoux Savannah, a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit inspired by the Mardi Gras Krewe in Louisiana. The organization focuses on promoting responsible pet ownership, supporting local rescue groups, and providing assistance to families facing financial hardship when their pets need urgent care.

Through fundraising efforts and community programs, Barkus & Meoux Savannah helps fill important gaps by offering support when it’s needed most and creating opportunities for pet owners to stay engaged. The group hosts regular meetups and pet-friendly events, with plans to bring a Mardi Paws-style pet parade to Savannah in the future.

Events We’re Proud to Be Part Of

You’ll often find our team out in the community, connecting with pet owners and supporting causes that make a difference.

Wag-O-Ween with Renegade Paws Rescue

Each year, we participate in Wag-O-Ween, one of Savannah’s most well-loved pet events. Hosted across Downtown and the Starland District, this multi-day event invites pet owners to dress up and “trick-or-treat” with their pets while supporting local rescues.

With thousands of attendees and significant funds raised for spay and neuter programs, Wag-O-Ween is a meaningful way for the community to come together, and we’re proud to be part of it.

Doggie Carnival at Forsyth Park

We also take part in the annual Doggie Carnival hosted by Woof Gang Bakery, held in Forsyth Park. This event brings together pets and their families for a day of activities, treats, and connection, all while raising funds for the Humane Society of Greater Savannah.

It’s one of our favorite opportunities to spend time with clients outside the hospital and meet new faces in the community.

WhiskerCon with One Love Animal Rescue

Our team has also partnered with One Love Animal Rescue for events like WhiskerCon, a cat-focused gathering that brings together rescue organizations, pet lovers, and the community. Events like these help shine a light on adoptable pets while supporting the organizations that care for them.

Staying Connected to the Community We Serve

These partnerships and events reflect what matters most to us: supporting pets not just during appointments, but throughout their lives.

Whether we’re helping at a fundraiser, meeting clients at a local event, or supporting rescue organizations behind the scenes, we’re proud to be part of a community that shows up for its animals.

We look forward to seeing you and your pet out in Savannah.
